Armed smugglers escort migrants to border, surveillance video shows

TRISH: WE HAVE BRAND-NEW VIDEO RELEASED BY BORDER PATROL SHOWING SMUGGLERS AND FULL TACTICAL GEAR AND MASKS CARING LONG GUNS AND AK-47 ASSAULT RIFLES ON OUR SOUTH BORDER. THEY ARE ESCORTING A GUATEMALAN WOMAN AND HER 8-YEAR-OLD CHILD UNDER A BARRIER. TAKE A LOOK. RIGHT INTO THE UNITED STATES RIGHT INTO OUR COUNTRY THROUGH THE WOMAN AND THE CHILD IMMEDIATELY TURNED THEMSELVES INTO BORDER PATROL AGENTS AND WE CAN ASSUME THEY WILL BE RELEASED WITHIN 20 DAYS BECAUSE A CHILD IS INVOLVED. ASSAULT RIFLES, CHILDREN, SMUGGLERS, EVERYTHING YOU JUST SAW YOU KNOW WHAT? IT POINTS TO A TOTALLY BROKEN IMMIGRATION SYSTEM, A TRUE CRISIS. MY NEXT GUEST HAS LONG SAID THESE KINDS OF INCURSIONS OR ATTACKS AT THE WOOD ON OUR SOVEREIGNTY AS A NATION TO JOINING ME RIGHT NOW CHAIRMAN AND “FOX NEWS” SENIOR STRATEGIC ANALYST FOUR-STAR GENERAL MAC KING. GENERAL WELCOME BACK TO THE SHOW. I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE SOVEREIGNTY ISSUE. WHEN I SAW THIS VIDEO EARLIER I THOUGHT ABOUT THE COMMENTS YOU MADE ABOUT YOUR CONCERNS TO BE ABLE TO PROTECT OUR BORDERS ETC.. THESE ARE PEOPLE WITH AK-47s THAT THEY ESCORT THESE PEOPLE INTO OUR COUNTRY. WHAT IS YOUR REACTION TO THAT? THIS IS DIFFERENT THAN THE CARAVANS. WHEN YOU SEE PEOPLE ARMED AND A SOPHISTICATED — SOPHISTICATED GLEE ARMED AS THEY ARE SO LUCRATIVE BUSINESS. THERE ARE SOMEWHERE BETWEEN EIGHT TO $10,000 A HEAD THAT THEY GET TO DO THIS KIND OF WORK AND THE CARTELS AND THE CRIMINAL SMUGGLERS ARE SO ALARMED EVEN THE POLICE WILL NOT INTERFERE AT THEM. THEY HAVE A FREE WRIGHT ALL THE WAY TO THE BORDER. AS WE SPEAK THOUSANDS ARE ENTERING THE UNITED STATES EVERY SINGLE DAY AND NOT BEING HELD IN DETENTION BECAUSE THE DETENTION CENTERS ARE OVERWHELMED AND THEY ARE JUST GOING INTO THE HEARTLAND OF THE UNITED STATES WHEREVER THEY WANT TO GO. THAT’S HAPPENING EVERY SINGLE DAY NOW EXCEPT THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS THE MEXICANS FINALLY STARTED TO INTERVENE AT LEAST FOR SOME OF THE CARAVANS. TRISH: WE ARE SEEING THAT BUT LET’S NOT FORGET TO GIVE MEXICO A LOT OF MONEY AND WE HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH IF YOU GO BACK SEVEN YEARS THE AVERAGE MEDIAN $300 MILLION A YEAR. MAY NOT SEEM A LOT IN THE SCHEME OF THINGS BUT 300 MILLION IS STILL A FAIRLY SIGNIFICANT NUMBER. THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HELP THEM PATROL THIS BORDER SITUATION. SUPPOSED TO HELP THEM DEAL WITH THE DRUG TANKS ETC. SO WE DON’T HAVE THE DRUGS COMING HERE BUT GENERAL I WONDER IF YOU ARE QUESTIONING THAT RIGHT NOW. DO WE NEED TO RETHINK HOW MUCH MONEY WE ARE GIVING, WHEN WE GET THAT MONEY AND WHETHER WE SHOULD GET THAT MONEY AT ALL GIVEN THAT MEXICO AND IN RECENT EFFORTS AND I APPLAUD THEM FOR THAT BUT THE REALITY IS MEXICO REALLY HASN’T STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE ON THAT.>>THEY HAVE A VERY LONG WAY TO GO. WHAT THEY BENEFIT FROM ARE THE MULTIBILLION-DOLLAR TRADE INDUSTRY IN THIS COUNTRY COME THE PEOPLE WHO COME HERE EVERY SINGLE DAY TO WORK AND RETURN TO MEXICO WITH THE MONEY THAT THEY MAKE SPEND IT ON THE MEXICAN ECONOMY. THIS IS A HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THE MEXICAN ECONOMY. HERE’S WHAT REALLY NEEDS. GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR ARRESTING PEOPLE AND DEPORTING THEM ON CARAVANS BUT WE NEED FEDERAL POLICE TO CLOSE THE SOUTHERN BORDER OF BEARS AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE LIFE FORCE TO DO IT AND THE RIGHT CONTROL MECHANISMS TO DO THAT AS WELL AS STOPPING THOSE WHO MAY TRANSIT AROUND THAT IN SOME WAY LIKE THEY ARE DOING TODAY. ADDITIONALLY WE OUGHT TO BE INVOLVED WITH THEM WITH THEIR — FBI AND OTHER FEDERAL AGENCIES TO GET THE MESSAGE TO SHUT DOWN THE CARTEL TRAFFICKING AND THE SMUGGLERS WHO ARE INVOLVED IN HUMAN TRAFFICKING. THAT HAS GOT TO STOP AND ONCE WE START TO DO THAT THEN THE INCENTIVE TO COME THROUGH MEXICO WILL BE REMOVED. OF COURSE WE HAVE SPOKEN MANY TIMES ABOUT WE NEED MORE RESOURCES ON OUR SIDE OF THE BORDER TO BE SURE BUT MEXICO PLAYS A KEY ROLE HERE TO DISINCENTIVIZED PEOPLE TO

Airsoft Battle Royale | Dude Perfect

Oh yeah. What’s up guys? We’re Dude Perfect. Welcome to Airsoft
Battle Royale. Here we go! Woo! Dude Perfect. Today’s battle is simple. Each of us will be
scattered throughout the map to scavenge for weapons
and eliminate opponents by popping their balloons. Last man standing wins. Purple Hoser here. What’s up, guys? Cor here. Coby checking into the game. Cody here. What’s up, guys? Ty. Let’s see what loot we can find. Could really use some shoes. There we go. First weapon find
and a backpack. Yeah, I don’t think I
really need a backpack. I’ve got to get off the road. These rocks are killing me. Oh no. That was bad. OK? Grenade. That’s going to come in handy. And a backpack. Got a backpack. Two more backpacks. Oh! That’s an Uzi! Let’s go! Let’s go, baby. There’s my rifle. I think we’ve got a gun range. OK. Four more backpacks. So, for those of
you that don’t know, Chad and Tim set up the course. And whoever was responsible
for the North Swamp, I’m going to kill them. Nice. The game makers are too kind. All right. I got everything I need. I just got to find a
good place to camp. We sit. We hide. We don’t go out into the action. That’s how you get shot. I think we’re going to
get on the golf cart. Bumpy. Oh! Goodness gracious! We got an air drop. We got to go. Oh! Oh yeah! Oh! It’s a sniper! It’s like a podium in a box! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Oh, there’s a crate. Frying pan. Boat. There’s Coby. He doesn’t even see me. I going to get in this
truck and snipe him. It’s going to make
way too much noise. Let’s row. It looks like he’s
using a paddle. I, I am very confused right now. No need to rush this. I cannot miss this shot. Oh! Got to get to cover! We’ve got a runner! He’s running away! You’re going down, Purple Hoser! Oh! I got him! Did he get me? He’s– oh gosh. Dad gum it. I think he got me. I got to bail. All right. It looks like I got two
balloons down on Coby. He just took off in the woods. I did run out of
ammo on my pistol. I’m going to go
back, get my sniper. Start heading to town. Play the other side. Let’s go find some people. All right. My balloons are right here. In a safe, secure location. All I’ve got to do is
wait them out, baby. And I’m going to be sitting
here taking a siesta. There we go. Right there is Corey! Oh! Out of ammo. Did he get one of mine? He got two. What? God, I handled that so wrong. I thought I could hide
behind these barrels, but my balloons stick up. Obviously. Ah, there’s Coby. Oh, God! I’m taking fire! Uzi’s down. Yeah! I got him first! I got him first! 100% Let’s go! All right. Here’s the deal. Coby and I just shot each
other at the same time. Technically, it’s not
actually the same time. Because I shot him a
little before he shot me. A millisecond. But ultimately, it doesn’t
matter cause neither of us have balloons anymore. We’re not happy about
it, but we’re both out. Gotta get up top. Pretty sure I got
two pops on Cory. And I am in desperate
need of a new weapon. I’m going to try and search
around here and try and see if I can find some. I need a gun. Bang! Let’s go. Ah! Dang it! set fire Oh, wow. That’s a lot of bullets. Ah! Incoming fire. Oh, grenade! Grenade! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh, Yeah. I’m getting out of here. There we go that’s what I need. I think someone’s downstairs. I’ve got him. I got a balloon. I got a balloon. Gosh dang it. Come on, boy! I’m in it to win it, baby! Cody! You camper! Did I hit you? You, uh. You did not Oh, sick! A K! Not worth it. Dang it! Dang it! Line them up, baby! Ah! I got Ty! I got Ty! Wait a minute! I got popped! I’m eliminated. This gun’s amazing. That was so worth it. You got nothing, boy! Come on with it! Here. Pull it! Gosh! Plenty of down fire. Give him some warning
shots with this. Oh, gosh! He’s got a pistol. You know what? We’re taking this on the road. Oh! Taking fire! Taking fire! Got to get– for more? Are you ready for He’s got a new gun! I don’t know what he’s
shooting, but it’s fast. Oh! How did I miss? goal. Oh. Out of ammo. I got to push. I got to push. I’m charging. Got him! Woo! No! Valiant effort, my good man. Dude! That was a blast! Hey, rule number one. Don’t get tired of hiding. It’s what keeps you alive, baby. It was so fun. Oh, man. That is exhausting. That was well done. I think it’s time for a
little trophy presentation. I agree. As always, not my honor,
certainly not my pleasure, Cody Jones. Winner, winner chicken dinner! Thank you. That looks fantastic. Very nice. Twins? By the way, good to
have you guys back. Hey. Thanks, man. Can’t wait to hear that story. Oh! If you’re not already a

Industry Leading Innovation – Strike Industries SHOT Show 2017

everyone and here are the three industries boots for Joshua 2017 I've been doing a lot of looking around here and there's a lot of really good stuff to speak unfortunately I'm not gonna be able to show you guys all of it but I'm going to do my best to show you some of the highlights of what I see so far and hopefully I'll be stopping back once again hopefully on later days to see some of the cooler your sense of all whether it's cool things that there's knowledge or the mp5 upper receivers these are just prototypes right now but they're going to be aluminum they have a bunch of different lengths most of them are going to have an integrated rear sight into the rail that folds flat which is pretty epic and then the longer versions have that up front as well there's a lot of cool stuff possibly coming here I really like the design of the end plate so you have both the 1913 and a QD built in so you don't have to worry about flopping a bunch of stuff we're adding in a bunch of stuff it's going to work with whatever you have right at the gate maintains the same operating system and all that so you don't have to worry about some new unproven systems tilden robotic design and they have a couple of different lengths as you can see behind me and you can see on the website row you can see these are the ak-47 rails these are also super lightweight that's one thing I didn't mention with our other hand rail ridiculously like I'll try to get an actual weight and put it down below on the a k1 yeah these removable 1913 rails which is nice if you don't want that cheese grater if you have nothing to attach it to you can make it really really slim which is going to make it really easy to hold on to them you're not going to worry about to enough time under reach wall or anything like that again all things fairly solid hopefully at some point I might get my hands on some of this stuff in the future so they can do more in-depth reviews just the durability because that's kind of my area that I'm most curious about given the lightweight materials hopefully it'll actually hold up under use this is another thing that I'm super excited to try out these are base plates extenders for Glock 43 l7 442 and shield what a really cool thing and I'll try to show you pictures of this as well they did their best to stay with a design on both the shield AM o'clock so that it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb from the rest of your gun it fits in with a style and design of those Pithom weapons and those blocks so it's a nice smooth transition there's no nothing glaring at you as far as differences so these are really cool and they're remarkably inexpensive they're able to use the same standard Springs in your magazines you have to worry about that as well I really want to get my hands on some of these and try them out see if there are reliable as the ones that I've been running if so I think these are a really great option again its price and the fact that it's going to look and feel just like the rest of your form and both myself and the hosta some see who's here we're both able to get our giant we're able to get our giant meat hooks on there as well and that's a really nice thing on this subcompact single sex gun video get your whole hand on there gives you super positive control and those things aren't going to go anywhere okay so you guys have seen the arc L reviews that I've done I really like those charging handles they have some new designs for charging handles as well which I'm really really interested to try looks like these are called the Phantom it is a latch list charging handle so basically you have a little metal tab on both ends which are going to lock into the inside of the upper receiver any milspec upper receiver and makes you don't have to worry about a lot makes it inherently ambidextrous and since you still have the spring tension of the buffer pushing forward with the bolt carrier group you don't have to worry about this thing sliding around it's still going to stay forward the only time it's going to pull back is when you overpower that spring pressure to move it's the rear and then I say you may be able to see the holes in this charging handle it's going to make it so you can get bigger chunks of meat is that you can hold on to and rack it really aggressively I'm really just to try these out see if they work as well as I kind of hope it totally negates the need for any ambidextrous charging Adel which I would imagine it's going to greatly reduce the price looks like it's got some channeling for for gas redistribution but as you guys have seen this to my other videos it doesn't always work as advertised but it does we're going to try it out see what we can do on both no 300 blackout five by six see if we can direct the gas away from my face so things as bad as the before so as long as just a little bit better it's better than nothing one of the things that I'm most excited about from strake industries here at the show that I've wanted to get my hands on is this this little CQB flood sock right here there's a lot of companies that are making these little PDW sock however none of them are really easy to use I've got my hands on the Troy I've gotten my hands on some of the other ones and it's kind of a pain in the ass to adjust this to the length or you want it or now with these view that's different is you just push in on this tab on the bottom and it comes shooting out locks in a position you cannot get this thing to move it doesn't get any quick deploy more quick to point in that the nice thing is if you have a firing grip you can while maintaining your fire grip as you're putting it into your shoulder it push in on that little stab and then it's ready to go right into your shoulder if you need a classic single handed you can just push in and then just push it against your shoulder so getting each lift but then it walks in single-handed which is really nice you want to be able to do single Hanneman installation but it's nice and short according to Garrett again the CEO of Stark Industries you can use your standard buffer and sprints and all that you don't have to get a special report carrier group which is excellent that's going to make life a lot easier the pain in the answer and it disassembles some of those other take the upper off of those other PDW stocks so that's great and as you can see on this thing as well we have the Sidewinder BUIS which I've been testing on my BCM rifle so far I really like them there's a couple things I want to talk to them about about possibly changing but so far there's watch like you have the option of having the sights off set about 45 degrees which is great if you're running a magnified optics and then if you want you can hold it in line and now you can Co witness with whatever red dot you're running or if you just want to run the iron this point as well I still have to test it to see if it changes your point of impact based on whether it's offset or inline but I really think there's lots like there a couple changes like I said I want to talk to them about and then other than that is they get squared away they also have these new rail scales that are going to be 4m lock and I believe they're making it for keymod as well so if you want to kind of clean up the look of your handguard this is going to lock into those rail sections and it's going to be really nice but again the thing I'm most excited about is this little PDW sign I guarantee I'm going to get my hands on one how soon that maybe is in the air again a lot of this stuff is still in the developmental phases hope you'll get one of them my hands on with these little glass chambers but again we'll see what our timeline is on that as you can see up there they got the anti-venom XEL D which has been running great for me so far I'm going to continue testing that and hopefully we'll have a review on that sometime it's here after I feel like adequately tested it alright so we're back here at the strake industries booth and I got a couple more things I wanted to show you guys before this week is over I'm really blown away by the innovation that's going on here the things that I put into my hands take a look at there's a couple things on this rifle that we haven't seen on any of the other things I've shown you one of those is the California compliance pistol grip here so that's excellent for those of you who are living in less friendly areas there's an even nicer one I'm going to show you here in a second one of these new uh new handrail folks they were showing me again I'll have all the links and as much information as they can below obviously these are still somewhat in development so not necessarily available to the public yet but you might notice right here there's a little throw lever what that allows you to do is to take off this handrail like let's say you have an adjustable gas block or you're building your AR you haven't tuned your gas system yet or something's going wrong with your gas system this is going to allow you to take your hand roll off a lot easier than some of the other systems out there and let you mess with a gas sloshing that's with anything else that you need to do which is pretty cool or even if you're going to be changing a barrel I'm going to make that process a lot quicker which is excellent and it's super lightweight this one obviously has the integrated front sight into it as well it's pretty cool you may notice something really interesting here on the end which this is the first I've heard of it honestly this week this is a suppressor coming up straight industries so specifically in 762 which is going to attach directly to the muzzle devices they're probably going to ask the more mounting option well in the future but again this is still again early development digital seven six two again they're probably also going to have a five five six can as well so that's a really interesting thing to keep a lookout for obviously if you're following them on social media you're going to be able to see all this stuff as well so some really interesting things on here again this is the first time I'm seeing it I'm sure it'll probably be the first time for a lot of you really interesting stuff oh and the cool thing about this hand rail also is the inner diameter it's matched almost perfectly with the outer diameter of these suppressors so if you want to leave your suppressor on you can actually flip the hand rail up over the top of this or if you're going to be running a shorter barrel with one of these hand guards you can recess this can back in as long as you don't have to worry about taking it on or off or because of the quick disconnect you can even take to take the handguard off if you want to be able to thread on or thread off that suppresses so some really really interesting options again this is all catching me out there too so I'm contrary excited to do this I got another one here Bart something else to show you again is these this more high-end I guess you could say California compliant pistol grip now you might notice some weird doodads sticking off the side of this which may seem weird without really having the understanding of these the thought process here as you guys know I did the video the strike switch and the way I was using it isn't necessarily the way that it is optimal optimally designed for so with this pistol grip what you can do is again obviously it's California compliant but with this thumb ramp right here you can actuate the safety on and off just leave your hand here and you might think well that compromises my ability to control the grip of this firearm and I'm not going to have as much ability to swing it around or do what I need to however on the left hand side of this grip it is actually indented so with your three fingers that are coming around below the trigger guard you can actually get a very positive control over that and the way it's texture gives you a lot of control there I'm assuming that obviously this is going to be a right-handed configuration I'm guessing that there's going to be left-handed configurations as well so all you lefties out there either learn how to shoot right-handed like the rest of the firearms industry or strike industries and fucking you guys up with a lot of ambidextrous options as well so really cool stuff there all the rails and stuff that I showed you earlier just like all of Stark Industries products as you can see with this rifle you can color code so for those of you who are competitors or like color matching your stuff you see all the blue stuff here they do blue they do red they do black they do gray so you have a lot of options direct from the factory you don't have to worry about shipping or going up or messing around spray paint like I like to do put some really cool stuff here I'm definitely anxious to see where this goes now one of the other things I want to show you is their apparel so let me grab that so something that I didn't even know was coming again this is all new for Shou Shou 2017 are the strike industry its barrel now right now the only caliber they're making them for or two to three wild which for those of you who don't know it's kind of like that mix right between five five six and two to three so you still can shoot Bowl five five six and through two three ammo out of it and people have been getting really impressive accuracy results as you can see here it's a one and eight twist cold hammer-forged currently the two lengths they have are the 16 to 16 inch and they have a ten and a half inch as well talking to some of the guys here it sounds like there may be other calibers coming in the future most likely is something like 300 blackout which obviously I'm a big fan of and probably going to be some more length coming in the future but right now obviously again these are these are fresh off the line you can probably expect to see these later this year so they're not currently available but again if you're following them on social media from them on our website you're going to see when all this stuff is coming out against Ric industries is a really kicking it up a notch when it comes to getting the entire market cover there's almost nothing they can't do which takes me to one of the other products that I didn't know was coming that's their magazine let me put this barrel back and I'll show you that magazine okay so here I have one of their prototypes for their new magazines that are coming out as you can tell obviously this is going to be your 5 5 6 30 round magazine the 4 plate is very easily easily removed or if you hit if you're in a class that has a sandy environment or anything like that it's going to be really easy to break this down clean everything out I don't recommend moving your magazine so you can clean it out run it dry rag through it get all the dirt and front out and get back to again this is a still in the prototype phase so I can only say so much about it however I do like the texturing on the front and back of this magazine which makes it very positive to grab onto a personally I like doing the beer can grip on my magazines so this gives you very positive control while maintaining nice slick sides so if you're running like a double-stack Magdalen mag out and having all your other mechs come out with it so that's really cool again something else to keep your eyes out for with the strake industry stuff another cool thing too is they are going to be having their extended baseplate if you want a little bit more capacity for those of you again competitors out there for people who just want a little bit more firepower ready before you have to throw preload okay so even though I've come back a second day to cover a lot of this stuff I'm sure that I'm missing stuff so the best thing you can do is go to strike industries website obviously I'll have all the links below check out their website follow them on their social media pages because they are constantly putting out new stuff they just recently got a really nice new camera which they're doing some awesome promo videos with as well you can get super high def close-up looks at all the new products that are coming out with which is excellent obviously you know I have a lot of strike industry stuff but I'm going to be reviewing as this year goes on like their Sidewinder backup site so I'm really anxious to get off my hands on a lot of the final product of the things that I've seen here man these guys are really starting to change the game they are doing some really cool innovative stuff they are definitely on that the razor's edge of innovation in the firearms world right now I mean I don't even think I showed you their stuff for 1911's or aks or anything like that because again I only have so much time here at shot show a really cool thing definitely check them out again all the links are going to be below I'm really liking what I'm seeing from strike strike industry so far so all that said definitely check them out thanks for watching and we'll catch you on the next point

15 Things You Didn’t Know About the Arms Industry

this is industry Wednesday every Wednesday we analyze a different industry today we're looking at 15 things you didn't know about the arms industry welcome to a lox calm the place where future billionaires come to get informed hello a lack sirs and welcome to another original video brought to you by our team here at Alex calm today we're going to take an in-depth look at the arms industry and its global impact in this video we'll be sharing the 15 things you didn't know about this industry since early man developed crude weapons with which to defend his territory and family against animals and human enemies arms have been an important part of our life the modern arms industry trades and weapons such as firearms and missiles it's a complicated industry with many illicit secret deals and publicity-shy arms dealers if you are new here welcome be sure to subscribe and follow us on instagram at Alex well let's fire off the first shot shall we and focus our sights on the 15 things you didn't know about the arms industry number one the beginnings of the arms industry are traced back to the discovery of gunpowder the Chinese discovered gunpowder quite by accident while trying to come up with some concoctions to extend human life this happened in 850 ad the explosive powder they made would revolutionize the way the future would be font gunpowder made its way to Europe during the Mongol invasions and along the silk trade route by the 14th century many Europeans were using hand cannons loaded with gunpowder in the 1500s the first firearms were developed these included the flintlock rifle and this was the blueprint of firearms that would follow number two the biggest game-changer in the arms industry was the automatic rifle the first automatic weapons included the Gatling gun which was used during the American Civil War once the barrel was locked a hand-cranked was used to fire off round after round in 1885 the world's first automatic weapon was created by firearms maker Hiram Maxim the semi-automatic pistol was developed by John and browning this was the first sidearm that fired multiple rounds without needing to be reloaded or recalled its invention in 1910 meant it was in its infancy when troops went to fight in World War one in 1914 many of them still used rifles that needed constant reloading number three the name ak-47 tells you a lot more about the weapon than you think the ak-47 automatic rifle was invented in Soviet Russia it is also known as the collision akov model 1947 the a in ak-47 stands for after Matt which is Russian for automatic the K stands for coalition akov a nod to its inventor the weapon was designed by mikhail timofeyevich Kalashnikov the 47 represents the year 1947 in which the version we know today was accepted the ak-47 is the world's most widely used automatic assault rifle it can fire 600 rounds per minute it's hard to know how many collisions cops have been made since 1947 but it's estimated there are more than 100 million in circulation today number for the reasons for the ak-47s popularity are about form function and price the ak-47 is the weapon of choice for soldiers and armies across the world although never officially used by the American armed forces many soldiers during the Vietnam War would take fallen enemy combatants ak-47s the reason for this is simple the ak-47 is functional and reliable it's an easy weapon to operate and can take a beating without it affecting the rifles performance the weapons seldom jams and works well in just about any climate or environment it may not be the most accurate weapon but it's a widely regarded as the best inexpensive to manufacture the ak-47 is the cheapest automatic rifle money can buy number five hun surprisingly the arms industry doesn't function well during peacetime without war and conflict the arms industry is in danger of collapse after major conflicts such as World War one and World War two the arms producers and sellers had an oversupply of weapons with no real demand the end of the cold war between the United States and its Western Allies and the Soviet Union left the arms industry in chaos there was a flood of weapons from Soviet caches into the marketplace at the same time manufacturers were at a loss no-one needed the weapons they were producing number six conflict is often manufactured to stimulate the sale of weapons the world's superpowers control the Armas manufacturing market for manufacturers to survive they need customers often armed Steel's are crafted with opposing parties involved in a conflict in developing nations so the arms can be supplied and billions of dollars of revenue generated this is done regardless of arms embargoes that prevent the sales of arms to such factions however weapons always find their way into the hands of those that seek them to wage war within and beyond the borders of their countries number 7 licenses to deal in arms are granted despite the horrors they wreak on civilians we need only look at the devastation and countries in the Middle East to see that arms traders are ruthless countries are using these conflicts to further their own agendas and they do so by endorsing the supply of arms to opposing sides through convoluted armed steals governments are supplying arms to administration's and factions that are not allies despite promising to supply arms only to their allies their arms find their way into the hands of the opposition as well how else do you think a group like Isis gets arms and ammunition number eight the arms industry is not independent of governments many arms manufacturers would boast they create jobs and keep families fed and housed while on the face of it it might seem to be true these companies don't do so on their own the manufacturers are heavily subsidized by governments to produce and supply arms and ammunition lobbyists are employed by arms manufacturers to make sure that governments continue to spend money on their products these influencers have the ear of government officials and grease the wheels to facilitate arms deals that may generate great income but also caused untold misery and death number nine the world of illegal arms trading was brought to light by the movie Lord of war 2005 s movie Lord of war starred Nicolas Cage and Jared Leto as brothers who get into the illegal arms trade the script was based on the stories told by real arms dealers and smugglers the movie showed how arms dealers sell weapons to both sides in a conflict simply to keep the war going and the demand for their weapons increasing the story shows how easily illicit arms dealers and smugglers could lay their hands on weapons after the dissolution of the USSR these weapons were distributed to war-torn countries across the Middle East and Africa the lengths an Interpol agent goes to in trying to catch the smugglers highlights the struggles law enforcement agencies face in trying to stop the illegal trade in arms number 10 many governments spend more on their military than they do on education heavy investment in the armed forces and defense of a nation is good for arms manufacturers and dealers a large portion of the budget allocated to defense is spent on arms and ammunition there are several countries that budget more money for war than they do for education even the United States has been shown to spend more money on defense than at on its education system the situation is even worse in war-torn nations such as Yemen Syria and Afghanistan where virtually no money is invested in education the country's spending is engulfed by conflict there is a good argument for spending more money on education now to avoid wars in the future however arms manufacturers would of course disagree has such an approach would affect their bottom line number 11 a recent scandal involving Saudi Arabia is threatening its arms deals with the u.s. the President of the United States Donald Trump is under increasing pressure from within his own party and government to cancel arms deals signed with Saudi Arabia this comes in the wake of the murder of an American citizen journalist Jamal khashoggi in a Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul Turkey in October 2018 investigators have brought to light the instruction to kill Kakashi came right from the top of the Saudi government as he was an outspoken critic of the kingdom critics of the president want him to act against Saudi Arabia using the armed steel to punish the kingdom so far the president has resisted this move number 12 the value of the illegal arms trade market is hard to estimate illicit arms trading is big business it's a dog-eat-dog world with smugglers and traders doing what's necessary to eliminate competitors to secure their share of the sales global arms sales are estimated to be worth around 60 billion dollars a year it's also estimated that illegally traded arms make up between 10 and 20 percent of the global arms trade arms trafficking is done on a small-scale basis by some gangs however there are global dealers who move massive amounts of weapons across borders all around the world number 13 the effects of the arms trade are easy to see rising numbers of conflicts around the world are a direct result of the players in the arms trade their continued survival is contingent war and violence however on a micro level the increase in the number of gun related deaths can also be attributed to arms manufacturers and Gun Runners the illicit trade and arms on the streets of cities around the world has allowed the proliferation of gang violence and gun crime in response law enforcement officials are more heavily armed than ever before with many arguing that police officers are armed like soldiers arms manufacturers and illegal traders alike both benefit from the escalating rate of violence number fourteen violent TV series and video games are often blamed for increased gun violence but are they solely to blame there are many who argue that the world is a more violent place because children and young adults are exposed to more violence than those from previous generations however it can definitely be argued the availability of weapons is what's driving higher rates of gun crime the u.s. has experienced multiple devastating mass shooting events in schools clubs and bars critics argue that the ease of access to assault and automatic weapons are the main cause unfortunately several attempts to make gun ownership regulations more strict have not really succeeded number fifteen arms manufacturers continue to modernize their weapons there is an increasing appetite for innovation in the weapons industry small arms are being made from lighter materials they are also made more resilient and harder to damage 3d printing has brought with it the frightening prospect of printing a gun without using metal this would make metal detectors at airports and other public buildings obsolete ammunition is being developed to pierce body armor and cause the maximum damage to victims as if there isn't enough carnage weapons manufacturers seemed determined to create more handle xers that's a wrap on our take of the arms industry now before you go we have a question for you do you think there are ways that gun control laws can stop some of the
