And this obviously gave us pretty good results,
25.2% open rates, 7.2% click rate Step two, you wanna start building a VIP list. A list of priority invites to people who are genuinely interested in your brand and genuinely interested in
what you have to offer in the coming days. You can do it in one of three ways. You can
incentivise them through an opt-in. Tell people, put in your email here again.
I’m gonna send you tons of discounts, tons of offers, or you’re gonna get first in line access to a limited stock, a limited edition product, when our BFCM offer, a promotion begins. Number two. Threshold qualification, this
is pretty interesting. Now if you have a very limited stock or if you have a
limited edition drop of of products in your brand, you may want to limit your
products, and limit your launch to only those that qualify for a certain
threshold of customer value. This is very unique to brands that play on
exclusivity as a core value. Now if your brand is exclusive to a certain
group of people only, threshold qualification is going to be a great way to do that.
This segmentation is also a great tool. The different ways that I’ve showed you,
the three ways that I’ve showed you beforehand, that’s exactly how you
can segment out people that qualify for your VIP or priority list. In a nutshell, the VIP list is a self opt-in or segmented list of highly excited subscribers. They are high-value. They’re also customers who have
purchased recently and/or frequently. These are brand evangelists. People who
are highly excited about what you have to offer, and you want to get them first
in line access because they are gonna queue up. They’re gonna be there when you launch. So this is an example of an email that
I’ve created for the Easter weekend. Save up to 70% off. Click here to opt-in to
our Easter weekend sale. This automatically sends them to a landing page that says welcome, you’re invited to our priority list membership, you will get first in line access. And on the back end, what you can do is segment people who have clicked on this link, into a separate segment in your email service software, and using that as a separate launch.
And this obviously gave us pretty good results, 25.2% open rates, 7.2% click rates, and we even generated some revenue from this surprisingly, I believe it was just slightly
under $2,000 from one email, and it’s insane because you’re not actually
offering anything in this email.
If I give you a place to be included, if
I give you topics and ideas to further your passion. When I make you an offer –
who’s built a relationship? Who’s built trust? Who’s helped shaped your opinion?
You’re gonna want to reciprocate. So by giving content over and over and over
again. When you give them an offer, people jump right on it. I’ve been building a group for a few months. There’s a recent case study for you. No advertising. I really put the gas on it about six months ago. About 10,000 people in this group.
I recently launched a product to them, we cracked $50,000 in profit in four hours. Just because I’ve been continually feeding them. That group has so much engagement that Facebook North America reached out to me, and said how do you keep people moving this much? Content. That’s how it is, and think about it. If you’re running content to people and you’re helping shape their opinion, and you’re feeding their addictions, and you’re feeding their need to be significant, and having information to take their passion further. Are you really a marketer? Or are you just
connecting offers to audiences like we all think about? No. You’re their favourite drug
dealer. They’re gonna come to you over and over and over again. And you’ve just happened to make their behaviour work against them. They show their intent.
They sort themselves out. They come over and over and over again. I am not concerned with people buying the first time. I want people to camp out and refer
people and buy over and over and over and over and over again. So again, my
friends, don’t be somebody who’s just building a better mousetrap.
Teach your mice to like your cheese.
So you only get traffic to your website
more than likely for people that’s at the middle of the funnel or bottom of the
funnel in terms of where they’re at on their customer journey, I like that. I
like people coming to my website that know that they actually want to buy something. Here’s the scoop, Here’s the reason why I prefer running Google ads versus Facebook ads,
specifically on the Shopping Network. Number one, so here’s the scoop,
let me actually backtrack really quick. With the Shopping Network,
even if you guys don’t do all the fancy stuff that we just talked about a
little while ago, it’s kind of hard to mess this up. I like stuff
like that. I like making money even if I don’t know what I’m doing. So with
that being said, Google’s only gonna trigger your products when people are
actually looking for something in the scope of what you’re selling.
You don’t have to guess about it, you don’t have to try to figure it out on
your own, when you send all that data in, Google matches that data up to all the
queries that happen in the Shopping Network, and they figure out if your
products are relevant to that and that’s the only time you actually get triggered
in the Shopping Network. So you only get traffic to your website more
than likely, for people that said the middle of the funnel or bottom of the
funnel in terms of where they’re at on their customer journey. I like that.
I like people coming to my website that know that they actually want to buy
something, and then the other part I’d like to ask myself, is have you
ever imagined someone going to click on the shopping section that doesn’t want
to shop? Does anyone ever go to the mall, as an adult, maybe when
you’re like 18 years old you might not go. You might go to hang out with you
like boys, hang out with your girls, or something like that. But if you
go to the mall as an adult, we go there with intent. That is the Shopping
Network. People go on the Shopping Network when they have intent for what
it is they want to get. Then also the other part I like is that there’s no
ad creatives. Once you’ve send all the data in, Google is really good at what
they do and they optimise your listings and all the creatives and everything for
you. Facebook, you know, it’s a lot of work to do. You got to pick out, you
know, you gotta run a slide show ad, you gotta run a video ad, you gotta run a photo ad. I’m like, man that’s too much work. I just want to send it in
and just get people come to my site that just wanna buy stuff.
Then lastly, you get full control over managing your site with the traffic that
you have come in. As you’re managing the keywords and the search terms, and you
send that into Google, you have the ultimate control of the
quality of traffic coming into your site.
Alright, how are you doing guys,
what, you’re doing nothing? Come on make some noise! How are you doing?
So just to let me understand my audience better,
are there any pay-per-call publishers actually in the hall? Say yes if you are.
Yeah, wow. I didn’t know I was that unique, but okay so my name is Tabish Nishat, I am
a CEO of Outsourced Solutions, I’ve been an affiliate for over a decade and
considered a superaffiliate, I specialised in Google search and pay per
call campaigns, I’ve done over a few million dollars on campaigns with
advertisers and publishers, I’m also a Google premier partner, an advertising
partner would call me a pioneer in the pay-per-call space. So this will
be our presentation overview, we’ll be covering the following things in our
presentation, we don’t have a lot of time so I’ll try to go through things as
quickly as I can, so we’ll be going through what makes
pay-per-call highly profitable, what are the best sources of traffic, how to set up a
call only campaign in AdWords, example of a profitable pay-per-call campaign, do’s
and don’ts, and at the end of the session we’ll go through a question and answer. So
if you have something, note it down, I’ll be happy to answer you in the end.
So what is pay-per-call marketing, for a lot of you, it may be an
alien future but I say it’s the future of marketing. Pay-per-call marketing is a
form of performance-based marketing where affiliates are paid by a
commission of the calls they drive to a business, commissions are based on the
total number of calls they drive or the number of calls that meet a specific
criteria like call duration and location of the caller and more. According to
Zenith, mobile advertising is gonna be taking the world by storm. So now is the
right time to get in pay-per-call, I mean I started like six year back, it was
a really alien future at that time but right now is the time to jump in the pay per
call ship, most of the pay-per-call offers will be a consumer based services,
like insurance, auto, health, life, home security, addiction, home improvement,
financial security, student debt, credit repair, deb settlement, cable, wireless
and many more. So why pay-per-call is the future of affiliate marketing? Profit
margin are great for affiliates, networks, advertisers. So I know a lot of
you are CPA, CPI, CPL publishers and you make like 10% if you are above average,
if you’re great you make 20%, if you are extraordinary you make 30%, but in pay
per call we are talking about 50 to 100% actual profit. Now I’m
not talking about revenue, I’m talking about the actual profit over your
campaign, so let’s say if you’re spending $100,000 on ad spend you are actually
getting $100,000 on your net profit as well, so that’s a great profit margin.
Then again, as I told you according to Zenith, in 2017 year was
99.3 billion on mobile internet advertising and it will
be close to 200 billion by 2019 and a major chunk of that market would be pay
per call. So once you decide that you want to run a pay-per-call campaign or to look into it, what sort of campaign do you want to run, so there are two types
of campaign in pay-per-call mostly, one is volume campaign and one is high
margin campaigns. So the volume campaign is, let’s say you’re targeting
a specific geo or you have like 50 states campaign and
it has a payout of like $20 then you have another campaign, which may be
targeting like 20 states or 25 state and it has a payout of $50, so in my personal
opinion, you want to target the campaign with the larger geo.
So because the campaign who have like 50 states rather than comparatively to 20
states, 50 state, one would get you a very very lower cost per click compared to
the higher pair campaign, which is targeting only 20 states. So
whenever you want to target, the pay per call campaign, that’s what you look
for, look for the higher geo campaign. So how will campaign restrictions
affect you all, this is again very important, there are a few campaigns
which are zip restricted, there are few campaign which are age restricted, so
while selecting your pay-per-call campaigns, you need to be able to see
that you are selecting a campaign which is least restricted, there are no zip
restriction, they are no age restrictions, so the less the
restrictions are, the more your profit is gonna be. Look for offer which
are direct and exclusive again, when you’re working through networks,
you need to ask these questions to the network, if your
offer is direct, if your offer is exclusive or is it brokered through
another network, because if it’s brokered through another network, they are already
sharing the profit margin, and you don’t want to do that. At the end of it, you want to make maximum money, as much as possible, so look for the offers
which are directly and exclusive with the networks. So some people
think that pay-per-call really does not have volume or money to be made so these are just a random numbers. Here, you can see we have 592,000 calls with the
total commission earned over $1.2 million so you can see the paid calls are 84,641 just an average number.
So here you can see the name of the campaigns, it’s a cable campaign over
there, then we have addiction campaign, then we have raw addiction campaign.
Raw campaigns, it’s a part of pay-per-call campaigns that what it does
basically, it just verifies the intent of the caller and you get paid after
five to ten seconds once the caller is on the line you get paid, that’s called
raw campaign in pay-per-call, then you can see the tax, health insurance and mental
health. So how Google Search works with pay-per-call. Okay, Google
AdWords is still the best source to drive very, very high quality calls and a
relatively very simple, it’s not really difficult to set up an AdWords campaign.
Again, with Google search, still the very relatively, very high quality, calls will
drive to your business, so you need to negotiate your date with the networks
because you’re driving the most high quality calls to your business. So Google
AdWords is still a way to go or at least to start with pay-per-call and setting
up an AdWords campaign is actually fairly easy and the best way to target
mobile devices, it’s again, as I told you. Here is a tip. Google usually hates all
sort of affiliates but Google doesn’t hate pay-per-call affiliates, why? You are
not cloaking anything, you have no linked sites. You really don’t need any content,
I mean that’s a great thing, you don’t really need to invest, on
your content, on your site, or your website or anything like that. All you
need is a simple landing page and you are setting up an ad in Google with a
simple click to call and the customer is directly connecting to your call,
so you don’t really need any content. Alright later, we will review how to set up a
click-only campaign. So here is another interesting thing you can
actually try, as many pay-per-call campaigns, as you want. Google actually
gives you free ad spend voucher for every new account, it depends from country
to country, but it’s between from $50 to $100 and I say $100 is a very good
amount to test any pay-per-call campaign. You can at least know the water or you
can actually test the water, how it is going for you, so my suggestion is always
start with Manage Clients Centre, you create a Managed Client Centre and then
you create multiple account under Managed Client Centres, so that way, let’s say
your one account goes down with Google, you never know how things go
with Google. So let’s say if your one account goes down, you at least have
other accounts running. So you don’t want to run all your campaigns in one account,
it’s a recipe for disaster, don’t ever do that, don’t ever run all your
accounts under one campaign. You can try as many campaign as you like without
losing a single dollar of course, because you can make as many accounts as you
want under MCC as a new customer. So once
you find an industry, once you find industry you like and you
know okay, this is where I can work more in, then you invest your time your money and
then see how it goes from there. So now, we’ll go through how do we
set up a pay-per-call campaign on Google Adwords. So this is a sample Google
interface. We go to campaigns, that’s after you’ve set up an account and then
we select “Search Network Only.” So after we select Search
Network Only there are a few options to set up a campaign, and you see, you’ll
select call only option over here, you set up the campaign
name, whatever you like, it’s just for your internal reference not really anything
to do with the actual performance. You can actually set up the settings, load
the settings from your previous campaign, but I would advise to start fresh, every
time. Okay, this is again, fairly important, never include search partners in your
call-only campaigns. The search partners on Google is still not 100% compatible
to make calls every time, so you need to exclude search partner every time you
making a pay-per-call campaign. Then you select your country, whatever you want to
target. Devices are already as we select call only, so it’s only showing on mobile
devices. Another very important thing, and this applies to every AdWords campaign
you’re running, always select people in my targeted location, people actually
miss this point so much and are losing so much money because they are getting the
clicks from the areas they are not actually targeting. Then you select your
language, whatever language you want to, if it’s English or if it’s multilingual,
you can select all the languages over there. Alright and then
we have a bid strategy. I would advise always to start with manual CPC because
you’ll be able to control more your budgets and maybe 50
or maybe 100 as a starting budget. Once you setup your budgets and you know you’re doing good, then youu advanced to a larger budget, then
select the accelerated option. Here you can select your timing, whatever timing
you want to run the campaigns, and then you have your time zone written over
here and save and continue. So the next section, we have our ad group
section. Okay, I think there’s something wrong
with the video. Can you check? I guess something went wrong with the
video, but anyhow, so in the next slide, you would have seen the ad
group, how to make an ad group, so it’s fairly simple, to make an ad, when you’re
making an ad group. You just go to the ad group, select the ad,
try to use the small phrase keywords when you’re doing your ads and
you use the call-to-action keywords like call now, call toll-free because you’re
giving a customer an option to connect and he knows he has nothing to lose,
he’s just calling and he’s just connecting, so you saying call toll free,
so he knows it’s not gonna charge me anything. So the most hyped
campaign for pay-per-call is open enrolment health insurance.
So every year open enrolment for individual health
insurance coverage begins November 1 and ends January 31. If anyone’s on
Obamacare coverage which is a health insurance plan in the US, they tend to sign
up for a plan by December 15, so there’s a huge amount of call traffic as most
people line up to get a change in their health insurance plan. Buyers are more
flexible, they have more call centre agents in, they can take more calls.
The payouts are better in the period, so this is the best time to
start your pay-per-call campaigns. The traffic surge is phenomenal, I
mean if I’m generating like 50,000 calls in six
months and only in these three months I would be able to generate 500,000 calls.
It’s that big. So here are few numbers from current year for our health
insurance campaign. So you can see on the first 146,000 calls with 234,000 revenue, then we have medical,
it’s also a health insurance campaign, we have 46,000 calls then we have 191,000
total earned and then we have addiction, cable, again
another auto insurance and again health insurance, 45,000 revenue,
32,000 calls in the last you can see 26,000 calls and 27,000 revenue. So why are there so many health
campaigns over here, it’s because you really don’t want to run all your traffic with one offer or one network,
you need to spread it out. Let’s say I mean, one offer is working good with one
advertiser and the second offer is working good with another advertiser, you
need to spread out your campaigns. Maybe you have like 8 traffic stream
and it’s going to advertiser A/B/C/D, so you’ve gotta split-test with different
advertisers. Maybe it’s working great with advertiser A with a 25% conversion
rate and maybe it’s getting really bad with advertiser D with 10%
conversion rate. So you need to really test out different campaigns and you
need to check it out, which one is working best for you. Alright then
these are the last year numbers, if you can see we have 152,000 call, we
earned over $727,000 then we have another
health running 46,000 calls then 234,000 revenue then we have another Medicare 47,990 calls, 190,000 in revenue
then we have another health campaign that is 38,000
calls, so just these health insurance, open enrolment health
insurance campaign, in 4 to 5 months can yield you over $1.2 / $1.3 million of revenue and as I said the profit margins are at least 50%,
if you’re not getting 50% on your pay-per-call campaigns, you’re doing
it absolutely wrong but if you are doing it good, 100% is no problem.
We have even 120, 130%. These are the numbers from
Google AdWords, so here you can see 406,000 clicks which equals
to calls and we have phone impressions, and then we have total cost of 701,000
and we have another campaign. It’s the same health campaign
this is just to make a comparison and give you a very important tip 14,000
clicks and $13 in total but there’s a very, very important thing over
there and this number is PTR, just like you have impression to click ratio in
CTR in pay-per-call campaigns, you have PTR like phone to click ratio so if
you’re phone to click ratio, if you can see in my first campaign, it’s 1.73
I got charged 1.73 and then every CPC but when
I have a PTR ratio of 6.48 I’m being charged 0.96,
so that’s like almost a half difference between the average
cost-per-click I am paying to Google, so the more your PTR is higher, the less
your cost would be. So once you decide you’re
running it, what are the essentials for the campaign?
So you target people who have higher income bracket these calls get paid
better by the advertiser, let’s say the IVR asks, hey are you making like over
100,000 a year, press 1 if you’re making less than 100,000 a year, press 2.
So press 1 getting paid at $20, press 2 get paid at $12. I want to get paid for
$20 so you target people with a high income bracket, it’s not
very high, 100,000 a year. Avoid bidding government plans, no advertiser
really wants it. Keep keywords short, again, this is very important in pay-per-call,
you want to keep keywords for two keywords, maximum three keywords. The longtail keyword concept does not really work in pay-per-call, so
you don’t really go there. I mean we all use our mobile and we always try to
search things with two keywords or maximum three keywords, so the longtail keyword
concept won’t apply here. Alright, misspelling keywords have very cheap CPC,
this applies to all AdWords campaigns, not just pay-per-call, it applies to every
and each AdWords campaign. If let’s say I have a keyword of cheap health insurance
and I just swap E with A, it’s a misspelling but the CPC of the actual
keyword was $5 and when I misspelled it, it becomes $1 so I’m still getting
the same traffic, my target traffic is still the same, so tried that.
What other traffic sources can be useful for pay-per-call? Alright, any traffic
source like Facebook, Bing, PPV etc, I mean, all you need is a specific traffic
source, which can target mobile, that’s all. That’s another
thing you can do, you guys run your CPI or CPA, CPL
campaigns and you are doing good in it. So what you can do, there’s always a
thank you page at the end of the day, so let’s say you are running
an air tickling campaign and after running the campaign, you get a web submit lead and there’s a Thank You page, you just add the number
in the end, “Hey do you want to talk to talk to the agent?” and we all want to get
connected directly to somebody, who we could talk to. They are
submitting a lead, they would be doing it for 4 or 5 other pages as well, so
you just need to add a number on your Thank You page and that
would increase your ROI dramatically, try it. This applies to every campaign
which you can do. So how to be successful at pay-per-call, research is
the key. Get high conversion keywords, negative out low-performing keywords, shop and try different offers, they all work differently. Let’s say you have a health
campaign, you try with different networks, different offers, they all work
differently. Customise your offers. Google gives you the option to customise
your offer, then like hourly bids, location-based bids etc, set up tracking
on the keyword level, that’s again, very easy with Google Adwords, it’s already
integrated, all you need to do is to turn on call tracking and it does all
the job for you. Don’t be afraid of losing budget. Yeah, I mean that’s very
important, we really need to invest some money into it, to get
something out of it. So once your free ad voucher is depleted and you like the
campaign, just try it out, I mean maybe you lose $200/$300 but once you are on break even, you can take it from there and then you can make
profit out of it. Alright, be honest with your affiliate manager, we really don’t
want to do that, but let me tell you like 5 years back, I actually make my $500,000 profit because of the tip of my affiliate manager. He
sent me an email, hey why don’t you try these couple keywords out and I did and
I made $500,000 out of it, so I always say be honest
with your affiliate manager, at least, I am always, I always tell them okay this
is what I’m gonna do, tell me how do you like it. At most they
will say no and you will do it anyways. So analyse calls, learn, profit and
repeat, it’s a simple formula but it’s in pretty much every campaign you’re running in
everywhere. Okay people think that you can really set and forget pay-per-call
campaign, it doesn’t really apply that, I mean you have to be continuously
on the model. I mean everybody is trying to do that. I personally check
my campaigns every 30 minutes, every 40 minutes, every 50
minutes, what’s going on, what keywords I can optimise, what more I can do
about it, experiment with different IVRs. So every time there is a customer that
connects to the pay-per-call campaign, he will hear a greeting IVR, it will say hey
do you want to do this, do you want to do that, press 1 for this, press 2 for that, if the IVR is too complex, you will
lose the customer right there. So you may just want to change the wording to some generic, some normal, some good wording and you may have completely different
results. This is again very important, this does apply to every
campaign you’re running on Google AdWords, Quality score can make or break your
campaign, if you have a quality score of 8 to 10 on some keyword and you have
a quality score of let’s say 3 or 4 on some keywords so it’s
basically like that. I mean on 8 to 10 quality score keyword, I am paying
Google $2 and if it’s like 3 to 4 quality score keyword, I am paying
like maybe $5 or $6 for the same keyword. So you really need
to increase your quality score on your keywords. So if you

Maybe if I click this, it starts. Here we go. Get ready. So my topic today is performance marketing is about to explode, here’s what you need to know.
Chad help me put this together. The guy put this whole show together. I think
it’s an awesome topic. It’s brought to you by your friends at GiddyUp. If you

about as much as I’m going to talk about myself. So it kind of posed the question
to me, when I said I’m going to talk about performance marketing is about
to explode. Are we going to blow up into a million pieces or are we about to
blast off to the next level? Who thinks that we’re gonna blow up?
Nobody? Blast off? A few, okay. I don’t even have the crowd yet. So let’s go through the scenario number one.
Are we about to blow up? Affiliates of the world. Robots are
coming to take you out and there’s nothing you can do to stop them.
Who feels like this? Nobody? Somebody. Let’s talk through this real quick. The first
scenario is the smartest and best funded technology companies in the world are
currently fighting against you every day. If you’re not providing value to their
consumers, then they’re looking for ways to get you to stop doing what you’re
doing right. That’s actually happening. It’s happening at a high rate and both
Facebook and Google are investing hundreds of millions of dollars building
artificial intelligence to stop you from doing things that hurt their consumers.
CPA networks are going out of business at an ever-increasing rate.
Marketers are still making money but it’s harder and more competitive. We also have
this scenario where the number of marketers is growing. These shows are
growing. The number of people in the performance marketing space is growing,
but the number of opportunities to make money isn’t growing at the same rate.
So if we want to go this scenario and make the argument that performance
marketing is about to blow up into a million pieces, these would be
some of the things that I would use to make that argument. Now I don’t think that.
I’m gonna go through the other scenario. So are we about to blast off?
I think the answer is pretty obvious. We’re the best sales people on the internet.
Of course we’re about to blast off right. Let’s go through this.
By “the best sales people on the internet”, I mean that we’re the people that are
the best in the world at connecting internet users with the things that they
want and need. So I’m not talking about the best person that just like to sell
stuff for the sake of making money, it’s about the ultimate goal of being able to
connect people with the things they want and need. That’s the value that we
provide to the world and if we embrace that, I think it’s easy to see that we’re
gonna blow up. We’re gonna take this thing to the next level and I think it’s
self-evident. Let’s think about this. Being the best is in our nature. Why do I
say that? First thing. We only make money by profitably selling someone else’s stuff.
That’s like a really big value. Most people don’t understand
the level of this value, but if you work with business owners, like
people that run really big businesses, corporations. Running the business,
operations, finance, these things are not very hard. They’re well thought out, but
how to profitably scale customer acquisition, probably one of the most
difficult things in business and yet it’s the thing that we do every day and
we’re great at. Second thing is we spend our own capital to promote other people’s products. What? It might seem normal to us, but to everyone else, that’s crazy. it’s like legitimately, people are like,
so what’s the catch? Every time we mention this. The losses we incur, they’re
what teach us how to perform. There is no university of performance marketing. The
tuition you pay is the money you lose figuring out things that didn’t work.
This is actually one of our biggest values and why other people who
do advertising and do it well, have a hard time doing it as well as we do. It’s
because they don’t feel those losses in the same way and they don’t learn those
lessons in the same way that we do. The next is that we’re part of a feedback
loop, a very valuable feedback loop to people that make things. We know what
consumers want, and after they buy it, we know what consumers like. Does anyone
resonate with this stuff? Does anyone feel like they’re the best sales person
in the world? A little? Okay. So this is why I believe
that we’re about to blow up, but I’m gonna go through this a little bit more.
This is a really interesting slide. Afffiliate marketing right now is said to
be about $12 billion. Before I go through the numbers, I’ll give you this little
note. This data is compiled from a mix of reports. They were like three
reports I grabbed from World Bank Forrester, and Rankin, and I also
approximated them for ease of consumption. So if you want to argue with
the numbers, just go look on the internet. Look them up yourself, but we’re at $12 billion,
global advertising is around $600 billion, ecommerce is
at $3 trillion. This is 2019. Does that help anyone see the
scope of this $12 billion sounds like a lot, but you are there. We are all
right there, and if you take this a step further, advertising, ecom,
and then global GDP, you’ll see that even ecommerce is just a
small drop in the bucket of all the ways people make money today in the world.
Making money on the internet is very sexy and awesome and we all want to
do it, that’s why we’re all here but it’s a small part of this bigger ecosystem
that’s playing and I just want to show this to you to help you see the size of
the opportunity. The next piece, I hope I don’t get too nerdy for you guys, but
this is actually I think a really critical piece to understand the whole
future. The cumulative growth 5 year comparison of these four industries.
So on the bottom you’ll see that we have global GDP, global advertising, global
affiliate marketing, and global ecommerce. That’s in that slide.
So this is year over year, five years, and the things that stand out
to me most are this. Number one, everyone in this room
that is an affiliate marketer legitimately participates in ecommerce.
I know people like to think about GiddyUp, oh we’re doing a new vertical,
we’re doing ecom. If you sell something on the internet for a living,
you do ecommerce. That’s the definition of it. So when we say
we grew 12%, that’s commissions paid. When we say ecommerce, that’s
stuff we sold. We’re participating in both of these markets and
they’re growing at 12 to 20% and look at this, that means that affiliate
marketing is growing three times faster then global advertising is as an entire
industry. That includes Facebook and Google, like global advertising, and
ecommerce is growing five times faster than all of the other industries in the world.
That’s global GDP. Does that make sense? We’re literally on a rocket ship
that is growing three to five times faster than any other industry,
all the industries combined. That’s how much faster we’re growing right now.
The other takeaways are that affiliate marketing is projected to double.
When I got into it, it was $7 billion, five or five and a half years ago,
we started GiddyUp. Now it’s at 12.
We’re projected to double again and be at 25 in another five to seven years.
I think we can do it faster. That’s what the past data tells us
and then this one is really even more interesting. $5.8 trillion by the end of 2021. So in two years from now,
they think ecommerce is going to go from $3 trillion to $5.8 trillion. So it doubled over
five years. We just saw a 100% growth. Five years, doubled. They think
it’s gonna double again in two years. Anyways, I want to make some of
that money. Don’t you guys? The other thing that you might not see when you
note this, is like if affiliate marketing is going to grow 12% next year and
this year it was over $12 billion How much new money is gonna be
in affiliate marketing next year? Can anyone do math real quick and tell me? The new money will be $1.5 billion.
So our industry is going to make $1.5 billion extra that we didn’t make this year,
next year. Who in here is gonna make a piece of that? Just my team? Cool. I think we’re gonna blast off together. This is my conclusion in my hypothesis.
I’m gonna go through a little bit of time talking you guys through how
we’re gonna do this, because that’s the most important thing, but I wanted to set
the stage so you guys know. I don’t know how many of you read the letter, my open
letter that we wrote with the founders, but this was really the whole opportunity.
To help you guys see that really, the scope of the
opportunity that performance marketing provides to the world and the value that
we provide and how we’re going to achieve it together.
So yeah. I think we’re gonna blast off together, but how are we gonna do it? Glad you asked. So I think the first thing
we need to do is to know ourselves. That the value that we provide to the world.
Why would anyone in the world, who wants to sell things, work with us? We are the best at, in my opinion, number one, figuring out and monetising traffic sources.
How many people here agree with that? I know most people here were
the people that figured out Facebook, figured out Google, figured out Taboola.
We’re the people that did that years ago. There’s a lot of people now
jumping onto it, but we’re the people that cracked new platforms.
The next thing that we do is we connect products with audiences and buyers and we’re very,
very good at finding who should we sell that to and making it work right.
The next thing that we’re really good at obviously is generating massive amounts
of revenue and massive amounts of awareness for brands. I think that’s like
something that people – obviously, we know how much revenue we drive for brands, but
I think we’ve often forget how much awareness we drive because for every 100
sales we do, how many thousands of people did we serve an ad to right? Then you
have the next piece. We’re the best at scaling customer acquisition. We’re great
at scaling it across traffic sources, across geos, across demos.
This is what we’re really good at. I don’t know if anyone will argue it with me in this,
but I think this is like our prime value, and the next is we’re really,
really good at optimising ad creatives and sales funnels to lower
the customer acquisition cost. Because that’s the only way we make money, but if you
ever talk to a legitimate business owner the things they care about is
what’s your customer acquisition cost and what’s your lifetime value of your
customer? So this is a really key part to every business in the world
and especially ones that want to work online. So the next thing is you need to
develop your robot-friendly skills. Remember how I said that robots are
coming to take you out? It’s only if you don’t provide value to the space.
There are skills that you have and I have and we all possess as performance marketers
that if we refine, there’s no robot that’s gonna take us away. In fact, they
help us do a better job at these things, and so I want to walk you through these
things because I think knowing yourself like what the value you provide is,
and what you should focus on, what skills you should refine,
this is what’s going to determine who is the most successful
this year, next year, and years to come. So first thing I think you can be focused on is developing creative ad development and angle testing. Making great ads that work and testing
all the different angles you can. I know a lot of people here,
they test images and they test headlines and test all sorts of things but testing the angle is
really often where you find the biggest wins, especially really early on when
you’re doing this thing. Getting new products and new categories working.
This is the way that we expand and go from $12 billion, take a bigger piece of that $3 trillion,
as we get out of the things we’ve been doing and we expand to new
things that people aren’t doing right now. Sales funnel optimisation. It’s kind
of obvious, but once you have something working, why not make it work a little better. Developing strong partnerships. I imagine that’s why most
people are here, but I think that this is another thing.
Performance marketing isn’t done in a vacuum. The value of being able to make money on the
internet is not having to do all the work yourself. You don’t that make the
product. You have to invent the product. You don’t the source the product.
You don’t have to do logistics. You don’t have to do for global fulfilment.
You don’t have to do customer support. You have to do this stuff. This is your stuff.
This is the stuff that you should be good at. The next thing is cracking ad platforms and
ad units. I’ve never met anyone so good at this, as a performance marketer.
Affiliate marketers and performance marketers are really good at saying, hey
there’s new eyeballs? Let’s make some money! Next thing? Scaling campaigns
across geos and demographics. I’ve already told you that but the real
thing is, I’ve also never met anyone when you get something working in one
geographic or one target person, marketers are really good at spreading
that out and saying, hey if US buyers are buying this, who else would want to buy this,
and bringing it to those places. Managing profitable ad campaigns
for multiple brands. Again this is really hard,
like some people that work inside of a company or work inside of an agency,
they’re able to have success with one or two things and then they point back to
that success to tell everyone why they should work with them.
Performance marketers are really good at making things work across lots of things and
having stories where they’re selling things across verticals, across brands,
across all sorts of things. Diversifying revenue to support scaling your organisation. This is something I’ve seen some people be good at and some
people not be so good at, but being able to manage your money and diversify how
you make money in such a way that you can stably grow your organisation,
so that you can accomplish more and add more value back because frankly, this is
a lot of stuff to do by yourself. If you’re trying to do that.
And then finally, building, engaging, and monetising your audiences of buyers.
There’s so many people that do so much work to get clickers and to get
buyers and that’s the end of it. Their ROAS is all the money they make. They’re not making money from these audiences. So over the next year, next two years,
three years. Rather than going too far because I’m a future guy,
I like to think about the future. These are the things that I think that
if you’re developing, if you’re doing, I think you can call yourself a
performance marketer legitimately and I think that the world is very, very bright
for all of us that band together and do these things. So I’m gonna close pretty quickly cause I’m closing the show and I don’t
want to take up too much time. I would love by the way, to go through this whole
list with you guys in detail, and maybe in the future, I’ll have the opportunity
to do that but what’s this hippie talking about? Right? You guys see
me walking out with long hair and no shoes on and I bet you,
everyone’s here is like, this guy’s just full of sh*t and he’s trying to sell something. You’re right, I’m trying to sell you on
being bigger and being better and becoming the full thing that we can become, and if you don’t align with that, that’s
cool, but I believe that the performance marketers that are gonna have the most success, as I said, are gonna be the people that do these things. I’m boiling it down and down,
if you guys haven’t noticed. Number one, you need to see and believe in the
opportunity. I showed you guys a couple things to show the scale of the
opportunity, why I believe we’re gonna take advantage of it, but you got to see it yourself.
I can’t make you see it and you have to believe it,
because if you don’t believe it then it’s not gonna happen for you that
doesn’t mean it won’t happen. You need to develop the right mindset.
When I said know thyself, that’s what I was talking about. Who are you? What are you about?
What are you good at and what value do you provide to the world?
Sharpen the right set of skills. If you’re really, really good at
hiding things from Google and Facebook, that might make you money today,
but that’s the kind of stuff that robots are coming to take out. Not people that
are really good at finding angles, that sell products, that actually helps
Facebook and Google make money. So fight with the robots rather than
against them, and by developing the right set of skills. Surround yourself with the
right people. I mean this is kind of a no-brainer and any leadership course
you’ll take, will tell you that it’s really important. You’re a product of the
five people you spend the most time with. You need to surround yourself with the
right set of people. Lastly you need to do the most important work every day and
you need to define what that work looks like. I’m gonna break these down into
five words so you guys can even boil it down further. Vision. You need to have vision.
I have vision. I want to generate billions of dollars from performance
marketing, like that’s what I want to do, and that’s what I’m on a mission with my
team to do regularly, to do that for performance marketers that see this
opportunity and want to take part of it. Mindset turns into purpose, like why are
you here and what value do you provide to the tribe? If the world
was a tribe, what does the performance marketer add to that tribe because I
think they add a ton and I’ve already shared that with you.
Sharpen the right set of skills. Value. You know this is what you do that the robots don’t do,
and why you’re going to continue to exist, and why we’re not going to have
our jobs automated out by robots in the future while a lot of other industries
are in the next two decades. Partners. I know you guys probably
don’t know that we call it performance marketing
rather than affiliate marketing, at least for ourselves.
We think performance marketing is a sub-sect of affiliate marketing. There are
people that get links and make money, and then there are people
that do all this stuff I talked about. We’re a smaller sub-sect of
a larger group, but partnership is a key thing both in affiliate
marketing because affiliate is a relational word. It means that
you’re affiliated with someone else and so this idea of partnership, finding the
right people to do business with, both in terms of your personal life, your
business life, the brands you sell, everything you do is super critical to
having success, and then yeah, doing the most important work every day.
That’s focus right. Focusing on what actually matters and is
what going to drive success for you and so this is a high-level talk. It’s really
designed to inspire you guys. I hope to take advantage of the opportunities that

affiliate marketing now in today’s video we are going to discuss why some
affiliate marketers do not like to use Clickbank as their marketplace for
finding and selling products and if you do not know what Clickbank is it’s a
marketplace where you could sign up to become an affiliate and there’s a whole
list of digital products that you can sell and get a commission from
the thing about Clickbank is most products of very low commission
ranging from I guess $5 to $50 and most Clickbank products are a
one-time sale so if you stop running ads for that product
essentially your business stops so what most marketers affiliate
marketers like to do is advertise courses and trainings
because they come up as higher ticket item sells for commissions and they
could be subscription-based which means you’ll get paid on them
monthly as long as the person is a member and some of those Commission’s could be
anywhere from $100 to $1,000 per sale or per sign up so that’s why most marketers were actually building a
affiliate business prefer to market other people’s courses and subscription
sites as opposed to just being an affiliate marketer and doing one-hit
wonders on Clickbank so to speak so if you’re just breaking into this
field or you’ve been added for a while and you’re doing Clickbank marketing and

I’m going to be putting a lot into this course, but hopefully you guys just see what goes through it, and when it becomes available, it’ll be even that much more exciting for you guys, because you’ll have joined me in the process of the creation of it. All right. What’s this training program going to be about? Well, I’ve always said that Kindle publishing I believe is the number one way for people to get started making money online that I recommend, because from my experience of all the other online business models, it’s the easiest and fastest, and also very inexpensive to get into compared to some of the other ones, and with online publishing, I’ve always seen it as the beginning and not the end. A lot of people, they get so focused on just publishing Kindle books, for example, they don’t look at the bigger picture. What I teach inside my K Money Mastery program, especially in the more advanced areas and everything, is that you want to start off with a Kindle book and publish a paperback book, an audio book, et cetera, but you always want to use it to build an email list, to build a backend and then once you have an email list, there’s a lot more that you can You can start doing affiliate marketing, and promoting other people’s products. Ever since I launched my free course that I share the 7 online business models, I was really curious to see which business model people were the most interested in besides Kindle publishing, because I’ve already got all the training available for that, for people that want to succeed, and what I noticed, and I’ve also known this now for the last year or so, just by working with people and having people send their questions to me, is that a lot of people, they want to know more about affiliate marketing. I believe that affiliate marketing is another one of the best ways to get started as an online business, primarily because you don’t have to create the products yourself. That’s one of the most challenging parts of selling online, is having to not only just create the product, but create the sales page, deliver the product, customer support. There’s a lot that goes on, marketing the product, excuse me. There’s a lot that goes on in selling your own digital products, and unfortunately, not a lot of people … Selling your own products is a great way of making money online, similar to what I do with K Money Mastery but it’s not very newbie friendly. It’s taken me years to get to the point of where I’m at, to learn and understand, and to be able to create really high-quality online training programs. Not only that, you need to be an expert. You need to have a proven track record, a proven method, a lot of success behind your belt, and so it’s not something that everybody can do, whereas, I feel that affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to make money online, because you’re promoting someone else’s product. You’re promoting someone else who’s the expert. They’ve already spent the time, the money to create the product. It converts. It’s got a converting sales page, they have great customer support, they handle everything for you. You basically just get paid by promoting that persons product through your affiliate link, and you earn a commission in doing so. Affiliate marketing is often what I recommend for people after Kindle publishing, or you can just do affiliate marketing as a business model without even doing the online publishing if you choose to, and over the last maybe few months or so, I’ve been really brainstorming and thinking a lot about, “Okay, what would be the next online training program that I’m going to create?” I thought affiliate marketing would be the best area that I could teach, and I really spent a lot of time thinking about, “Okay, if someone’s brand new to this, they’re a newbie. They don’t have anything to get started, they don’t even know about online marketing or any of this terminology, or the process or whatever.” They’re a total newbie. Could I take someone that’s just brand new to this, that’s never done any online marketing before, brand new, to a point of making money online within a given period of time? Let’s say within a month, or three months, or whatever. What I did was, this is stuff that I was brainstorming a few months ago when I was thinking about my goals for this year, is I decide, “You know what? I’m going to start working with some people and help them just from start from scratch their own online business, in the realm of affiliate marketing,” and help them identify what are the beginning stages, what are the first steps, and what are the steps after that? What are the step by step process that you would go through, that would be consistent, that would be replicable to anybody out there? Just a universal step by step formula that can lead people to success with affiliate marketing. I feel that I’ve been able to create a really awesome method now, and I’ve tested it with a number of different people as well, but a really awesome method that works. I’m very confident in it. I’ve been able to benefit from it, so I have a proven track record of what I’ve been able to create online, and I believe it can create a lot of success for other people as well. That’s why I decided to create this course which I’m going to be focusing on now over the next hundred days to create for you guys. I’m excited about it, guys. I’m going to show you guys right now, I don’t want to blab on too much. I have a tendency to do that, but this is a vlog, so I can technically talk about whatever I want, but I’m going to show you guys my computer, and map out for you guys the beginning stages of this, of creating the product. Of course, I’ll share more with you guys what the products going to be about, what it’s going to include et cetera, in maybe this video and other videos afterwards, as well, but I’m going to share with you guys my RPM plan of how I’ve planned out today, and I’ve already taken some steps in the creation of this product, as well. Maybe what I’ll do is on my computer, I’m going to use my phone right now guys, and I’m going to show you guys what’s going on, and hopefully you guys will be able to see this. All right. This is my computer screen right now. Today is April 17th on a Sunday. I use Evernote, by the way. There’s always people that ask me, “What do you use to plan out your day?” All that sort of stuff. I use Evernote. Great resource to have. You can get it on your iPhone, your computer, and I use it to plan out my day. I use it for taking notes for brainstorming, all kinds of stuff when I go to seminars, et cetera. All right. Today is April 17th, and whenever I plan out my day, I always set out my outcome, purpose, and action. Something I learned from Tony Robbins. He calls it RPM or “OPA.” My outcome today is to immediately start making progress towards the creation of Affiliate Marketing Mastery, to achieve my goal in launching the program as part of my 100 day challenge, by July 9th, 2016. I’ve already taken the step before this of creating the name of the product, and that’s one process that is probably one of the first things that I do, besides some brainstorming and whatnot, is coming up with a name, because I want to get the domain name as soon as possible, and get started on the logo and a few other aspects of it. What I do when it comes to creating a name is I just basically brainstorm, and it usually takes me about a week or two of brainstorming different names of potential products, and I just use Evernote for that, and I might look at other products that are out there in other industries, niches, thinking about something that might be consistent to my brand, thinking about … I use the source sometimes as well, just to write down all my favorite words and different variations of different words, as well. Actually, I settled on Affiliate Marketing Mastery. I was actually going to buy the domain AffiliateBlueprint.com, and I actually use GoDaddy Auctions, which I’ll show you guys here in a sec. I’ll show you guys right now, actually. This is GoDaddy Auctions where you can bid on different domains that aren’t available, and so the domains that I wanted, whenever you have a name for a product, you want to make sure that the domain name is available, right? You can buy the domain whatever it is .com, so you want to own that. Some of the names that I came up with, the domains name weren’t available, and in some cases, you can buy if people are selling the domain name, so affiliate blueprint was actually the one that I liked, and I made a bid of $1000 for it, but unfortunately the person didn’t accept it. Instead, I got AffiliateMarketingMastery.com, and I’m actually very lucky that this is available. This is actually an expired domain, so basically someone owned this domain, and it expired. They didn’t renew it, and so when a domain gets expired, and they don’t renew it, because you have to pay every year for your domain name, then it goes to an auction. With my GoDaddy Auctions account, I was able to … This domain name just came up and I bought it, and it’s actually not available yet for me. I bought it on the 15th, but it’s not going to be ready until the 23rd. I only paid $12 for it, which is pretty cool. I’m happy with the name, because it’s consistent with my brand, which is Project Life Mastery. I love the word “mastery.” Similar to K Money Mastery, it’s very clear what it’s about, affiliate marketing, people know right away, “This is a course about affiliate marketing.” I always focus on level of mastery with anything. I just don’t want people to dabble with anything. I want people to master it. I got the domain name. Let’s go back here. That’s why I picked the name. Purpose. By the way, when I pick out names, too, I always like to get feedback from other people, so I have a few friends and people that I get feedback from, people on my team.
Once I set my outcome, I select my purpose. Why am I creating this program? Well, I’m going to share with you guys my purpose for this. Number one is to serve more people, helping them start their own online business and become financially free. To create something new that will be fun, exciting, and that I’ll be passionate about, helping others serve others, helping the greater good, because if I can help people start their own online business and help them help people with their business, then there’s a ripple effect, and it just comes back to me in some way, as well. Create a new income stream for myself, enhancing my quality of life, to stay consistent with my goals and commitments, to inspire others to what is possible, and to diversify my income. These are the main reasons why I’m creating this program that drive me and motivate me. I then set some of my actions. Now, to create this whole product, there’s a zillion actions to take, but these are just the actions for today, and usually when I plan out my day, I make a list of the main things that I want to do, but then I bold three of the primary, most important things for me to do that day. Some of these things, I’m actually not going to be able to get done today, because I’m waiting for the domain name to be available for me, which won’t be for a few days, so some of them that I can do that I’m in control of, that I’m focused on right now. First one is buy domain name AffiliateMarketingMastery.com. I’ve already done that. The next thing which I’m going to do right after this is create the 99 Designs contest for the logo, and I like to, whenever I create a project like this, there’s certain things that take time to complete, like a logo that’s going to take maybe a few weeks to finalize, and complete, so I want to start that process now as soon as possible, because I don’t want to wait, and leave that to the last minute. I can get started on that, I’ve got the domain, it’s official now. I can get started on the logo, and maybe even need your guys feedback on that, too. I’ll share with you guys the process I go through. I’m going to get started on that, because that’s going to take a bit of time, and the other things are install WordPress and LeadPages, and set up a “coming soon” lead page, as well as a wait list. I need to setup an Aweber list, which basically allows me collect and manage emails, and I’m going to start the trademark process, because I want to own the trademark AffiliateMarketingMastery.com, as well. Anytime I pick a name for a product, I always make sure that it’s not trademarked, I’m not violating anyone else’s trademark. I’ve already done that, as well. I want to start the trademark process which typically takes a few months to go through, and you’ll either need a lawyer to help you with that, or you can do it yourself. I’ve done it myself, in my case, so I can do it again. Brainstorm and create outline for the training. That’s another high leverage thing for me to do today, and brainstorm and create the sales funnel. This is going to be the the funnel that I’m going to create for my customers. Now, I’ve actually done … What else have I done? I’ve already created the outline. It’s not done yet, but I’ve created the draft of it, and the outline is actually something that I’ve been working on for a long time now, because whenever I have idea for something, I always document it and slowly put it together over time, and as I mentioned before, I’ve been working with some people and helping them as well, so I’ve broken it down. This is actually going to be a very big course. This is going to be the best course that I’ve done, and I’m really excited about it. It’s going to be really, really, really good. It’s not going to be a cheap course. I don’t want to sell cheap courses. I want to sell really high-quality courses that are like from start to finish, high quality, covers everything and goes into a lot, and really helps people and I don’t want dabblers. I don’t want people that aren’t fully committed, and I don’t want people that are just going to look for something for free, and not really use it. There’s a lot that’s going into this. I know the value of it. It’s not going to be cheap. It is going to be a couple of hundred dollars at least, but it is going to be worth it, because what I’m putting together is going to change a lot of people’s lives, and the information is very valuable. Okay, so what are the training modules? As you can see, I’ve shared a little bit here. Starting off, just introduction, strategy and mindset, going to market, research, keywords, setting up blog, YouTube and social media. I’m basically teaching all the things that I do in my online business, in helping people do what I do. Creating a YouTube channel and building a YouTube channel. Creating social media, creating blog, and ranking your blog, getting traffic that way, finding a niche, the markets you want to be in, creating content. There’s a lot of stuff that … These are all going to be different training videos, so you can see, there’s going to be over 100 videos in this training program, probably. Tracking visitors, followers, building your email list, again, just sharing all the different strategies that I’ve been able to utilize in my business. How to earn revenue and monetize your traffic, making sure you’re compliant with the FTC, promoting email marketing, autoresponder marketing, tracking, optimizing, analyzing, split testing, affiliate … All this sort of stuff. Goal setting, mindset, which I believe in. Some additional training, some more advanced strategies for maybe another potential program. As you guys can see, this is a whole outline. This is just the draft of it so far, but there’s already a lot that I’ve mapped out for it. I’m very excited about it, and now that I’ve got the outline, I’m probably going to add more to it, and just again, really just hone it in and make sure that it’s just really, really good and solid, but I’m probably going to get started recording some of the content sometime next week. Today, I’m going to do the logo, I’ve already done the brainstorm and create the outline. I’m going to work on some of these other things here, as well, and I’ll keep you guys updated, again, with how things come along in some future videos, also. Hopefully you guys enjoyed this, are able to benefit in some way, of just the process that I’m going through here, but like I said, I’m going to try to be transparent with you guys and share with you guys a process of what I go through to create an online course, and try to, again, help you guys as much as possible with your own online businesses. Honestly, creating the product and everything, that’s really challenging to do. It’s going to take me a lot of time to do that, but also, once I create that, I also need to create the sales page, I need to put together everything in the members area, upload all the content, integrate it with Clickbank, there’s a lot of more steps that I need to go through, so I’ll share with you guys that process, as well.
